This qualification will prepare you to work unsupervised or in a supervisory role with children and their families in a variety of settings. The Diploma will also prepare you to take responsibility for managing the emotional, physical, intellectual, linguistic and social development of the children in your care. You will spend around half of the course in work placements, putting what you've learned in the classroom in to practice in a work environment. You will study units including Supporting Children, The Principles Underpinning the Role of the Practitioner, Working with Children, Playing and Learning in Children's Education, and Caring for Children. You will need to pay for specialist materials associated with your course. You will gain a CACHE Level 3 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education and Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You could go on to a job as a nanny, nursery supervisor, pre-school leader, creche leader or special educational needs worker. The full Diploma will give you 360 UCAS points, which you can use to go on to university level courses.
