This qualification will prepare you to work, while being supervised, with children and their families in a variety of settings. By undertaking a work placement you'll have the opportunity to try out what you've learned in a work environment. The Council for Awards in Children's Care and Education (CACHE) leads the way for qualifications in early years care and education, so this is a well-respected qualification. You will study units including An Introduction to Working with Children, The Developing Child, Safe, Healthy and Nurturing Environments for Children, Children and Play, and Communication and Professional Skills within Childcare and Education. You will need to pay for specialist materials associated with your course. You will gain a CACHE Level 2 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You may be able to move on to one of our Level 3 childcare courses.
