Textiles - Start Sewing

This course will teach you to design and sample for creative textiles and complete two chosen items to complete the course. What experience or skills do I need to join this course? · None required. This workshop is for both beginners & the more experienced with learners working on individual projects What is the course about? The course is made up of Soft Furnishing & Dressmaking.  And you can choose which you wish to cover or it allows you the flexibility to change from one to the other. You will gain confidence on a machine learn terminology build on skills to move onto more complex projects understand how to alter patterns & use pattern matched fabrics - dependent on the area you cover. Dressmaking Taking correct body measurements; alter patterns to fit; understand how to use a flow chart; Manufacturing techniques of chosen article.                                                                                                                                                      Soft Furnishing: Hand stitches relevant to soft furnishing; understanding pattern repeats; cutting pinning and matching fabrics; manufacturing techniques of chosen article.
