Who is the course for: This course is for students who are interested in computer hardware and who wish to gain an intermediate level of IT knowledge (applications). Interest in computer hardware and applications is essential. Previous hardware knowledge useful but not essential. Course Content: Course units include: Health and safety in ICT and contact centres Develop own effectiveness and professionalism Software installation & upgrade ICT system operation Working with ICT hardware & equipment System management. Study Methods: In class delivery of practical and theory with work related scenarios and actual work based assignments for hardware and applications units. Part of the time is will spent in Practical hardware labs. Work placement is an integral part of the course How is the course assessed: Portfolio and in class supervised assessments. Where next - Further Studies: City and Guilds Level 3 or CompTIA A+. Where next - Job Opportunities: First line support - help desk or making systems. Working with Microsoft office applications in industry.
