Who is the course for: For those who wish to develop their skills for a career in the beauty therapy industry. Course Content: Course units include: Waxing Manicure and pedicure Facial therapy Make-up Eye treatments Health and safety Reception duties Retail and promotion Customer relations Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. You will carry out treatments on members of the public working in our College salons Study Methods: Theory and practical study working in a realistic salon environment and practise a range of treatments on paying customers. How is the course assessed: Assessment is by a range of methods including assignments, independent written assessments, oral questions and on-going practical assessments. You are expected to demonstrate 100% competency in all assessments. Self study and independent research is essential. You will be expected to keep a portfolio of evidence, which includes all your work and will be internally and externally verified. Where next - Further Studies: C&G Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy - Massage route, C&G Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects Hair & Media Make-up or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy.
