This course is a preparation for entry to a Degree or Higher Diploma course in Science subjects that might require Biology, Mathematics and Physics such as Diagnostic Radiography, Bioinformatics, or Biophysics Three modules are studied, these are: -Biology -Physics -Mathematics In addition a Research Project will be undertaken chosen from one of the subject areas.Credits are awarded for the Access course modules. To achieve the Access Diploma, you must gain all 60 credits, including a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3. There are 20 units of 3 credits each; 7 units of Biology, 6 of Maths, 6 of Physics plus the Research unit. 15 credits are graded, while 5 must be passed but are not graded and used as introductory units to build confidence and knowledge. All units are Level 3.Assessment is continuous with examinations, reports, essays, tests, assignments, presentations and laboratory work.The Access to HE Diploma is awarded by Openawards.org.
