Could you survive on the mountains in a force 7 gale and navigate your way across the Brecon Beacons? Would you like to be able to combine practical activities like these with vocational and academic units to give you a qualification that could get you into university or alternatively prepare you for entry into the uniformed services? This Extended Diploma in Public Service course includes visits to the uniformed public services and the opportunity to join in outward bound activities and team building skills. These activities balance the challenging academic side of the course which covers aspects of psychology, sociology, politics and geography which are relevant to the public services along with global and contemporary issues. You will learn about; leadership, developing teams, planning adventure expeditions, outdoor activities both land and water based, discipline and the effects of crime on society. The course is designed to be as practical as possible to give you a wide range of experiences to help you learn about the Uniformed Public Services and aid you in your choice of career. It is a coursework-based qualification and you will be able to set your own targets and monitor your progress in reaching them.
