Who is the course/activity for? - SFP is for any family with young people aged 10 - 14 years - The parent /carer and young person must be aware of and agree to the referral - Families must be committed to attending all eight sessions and be aware that groups will run after school hours, usually in the evening. - This course has been developed as an introduction for parents /carers who are interested in supporting their children's learning and development through family learning. - Parents/carers who have Skills for Life needs and are working below Level 2 in English. - Parents/carers who would like to gain confidence and discover new skills. - The course is not suitable for parents/carers who have higher level qualifications such as A levels and Degrees. - All families will receive a home visit by a group leader to assess their suitability for the programme. The referrer may be requested to accompany the group leader at the home visit.
