A course to introduce you to different textile techniques and look at their creative uses in Art, Interiors and Fashion design. This course is open to everyone and anyone who is interested in learning about Contemporary Textiles and different textile techniques using fabric, yarn, felt and paper etc. This course will enable you to build up a project/ portfolio of textile techniques leading you to make a final piece/ artwork/ accessory of your own. The choice will be yours. The aim of the course is to introduce you to different textile techniques experimenting with each and teach you basic skills so that you can create individual and personal textile pieces using a range of materials. Presentations looking at artists and designers work. Through discussion, advice, guidance and a practical demonstration, students are helped to experiment with a variety of textile techniques. This will lead to the development of one or a range of individual and uniquely designed textile pieces.
