A Mathematics A Level can lead to any number of educational and career opportunities. It is a highly respected qualification and Maths A Level students and graduates are in high demand by employers. Maths is required for many university courses such as Physics, Engineering and Economics. David Willetts MP, when speaking as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills said: “In terms of future jobs and career opportunities, A Level Maths scores more highly than just about anything else.” Mathematics is a very successful and popular subject at A level with 89% of last year's cohort achieving grades A* - C and 80% achieving grades A* - B. Mathematics is a universal part of human culture. It is the tool and language of commerce, engineering and other sciences - Physics, Computing, Biology etc. Mathematics is about pattern and structure; it is about logical analysis, deduction, calculation within these patterns and structures. When patterns are found, often in widely different areas of science and technology, the mathematics in these patterns can be used to explain and control natural happenings and situations. Mathematics has a pervasive influence on our everyday lives.

Statistics 1 - This module offers an insight into measures of location and dispersion, correlation and regression, probability and the normal distribution.
