This course promotes health and well-being on a physical and emotional level. Learners can explore and address any blocks to relaxation whilst gaining an understanding of the concept of mindfulness. A variety of reflection worksheet are provided to increase self-awareness of thought, feelings and responses. The course allows learners to practice mindfulness and experience a range of relaxation techniques that prevent muscle tension and reduce stress, and breathing techniques that increase lung capacity and promote calmness. This course can be of particular benefit to those working in a supporting role as techniques can be shared. This is a course that is part of the Health and Wellbeing curriculum. relaxation practices are adapted to individual levels of ability. For example, learners can sit in a chair rather than standing or lying down on the floor. This course is run at Redcar Academy and is part of a variety of health and wellbeing courses available this year
