Title of course Photography - L1 Award Photo Image Capture & ManipulationWhat knowledge/skills will I learn on the course?This course is designed for students who wish to develop their skills in taking/making photographic images giving emphasis in the principles of photo image capture. It also covers digital image manipulation skills using Photoshop. It is also appropriate for students who wish to progress on to further study and training in the Photography discipline. You will learn how to:Have a good understanding of your DSLR camera inc. the use of semi auto and manual modes ISO Aperture Shutter speeds and how to combine them for a good exposure.Technique inc. long exposures portraits and still life using continuous lighting.You will also learn how to use Adobe Photoshop Elements inc. RAW processing and various photo manipulation techniques.Your tutor will give you more information about the course at your first sessionHow will I be taught and will there be any work outside the class?Classes will consist of both theory and practical tasks inc. setting up and planning for images. Portfolio work is to be undertaken in your own time and homework will be required weekly.How will I be assessed?You will be assessed for accreditation via the submission of 2 image portfolios and 2 written workbooks (6 images for photo image capture and 4 images for image manipulation). This will be explained at the interview stage and at the beginning of the course.What kind of feedback will I get from my tutor?You will receive ongoing feedback from your tutor throughout the course this will include class work and homework reviews one to ones at various intervals during the course and a Q&A session each lesson.
