Are you interested in a career as a professional DJ, or are you already an amateur DJ? Either way, this short, informal course will help you to develop your skills. What you will study Digital DJ systems and the functions of various hardware controllers and digital DJ software including Traktor and Torq. Analogue (Vinyl) DJ systems, track cueing, beat matching, mixer functions; eq, faders, gain levels. Use of effects for creative mixing; filters, beat-repeats, gating, looping. Beat structures, song structures, analysis of intro's/outro's, set planning, scratch techniques; baby scratches, transforms, cuts, stabs, crabs, flares, basic combinations.
