Who is the course for? Anyone with a genuine interest in a career in the expanding Hairdressing Industry. Potential candidates need to be aware that excellent attendance and punctuality is essential. What can it lead to? Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress on to courses such as NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing or possibly another vocational qualification at level 2.(We would recommend that you check entry requirements for other level 2 qualifications as entry requirements may vary.) What will I study? The course is designed to develop students practical skills and associated science and theory for: shampoo and conditioning, colouring hair with temporary colours, styling womens hair, the art of dressing hair, salon reception, retail displays, hair plaiting, Health and Safety and customer care. Students also need to take part in an assisting role in the salon and work with other levels of learners in this curriculum area.
