You will learn to use the language of debate and argument, clearly expressing and defending your point of view. In the context of a French literary text, you will be developing essay - writing skills and helped to carry out in - depth research in French. You will study advanced French grammar and develop skills of translation into French. Those topics covered at AS Level will be dealt with in more detail, and additional A2 general topic areas are: customs, traditions, beliefs and religion; national and international events: past, present and future; literature and the arts. The study programme is supplemented with weekly oral classes in small groups with a native speaker to practise discussion skills. You will also study independently in the Languages Self Access Centre, which is fully equipped with books, study guides, magazines, and computer - assisted learning resources. A study visit or exchange to France will further enhance your experience and learning.
