Communication and Culture A Level

UPDATED 20151214 17:13:46

Have you ever wondered how to tell if someone is lying? If people judge others on their accent? These are some of the issues in Unit 1 of the course, where we explore the whole range of human communication - from the way we think to Facebook - and develop the skills to understand it. The course combines theoretical and practical activities which enable you to be more confident and knowledgeable communicators. In Unit 2 you carry out an independent study: you explore what they mean at a personal and cultural level. Here you learn important academic research skills and develop aptitude in podcasting and editing in the production of a multimedia presentation. Projects have ranged from how identity is constructed online to what festival going communicates about culture.
