Having identified the skills and interests you wish to work on you will work independently on some and work on core skills in groups. This is a good course to brush up reading and note taking skills, cover spelling strategies; some punctuation e.g. good use of commas and develop writing skills. You will also develop your speaking and listening skills for 1:1 and group discussions. There are regular points in the year you can join the class. You should have a qualification or solid skills at Entry Level 3. This session particularly suits learners who feel they have, or may have, dyslexia as extra time given to complete tasks, if required.; tasks are broken into smaller chunks; concentrates on building confidence to acknowledge the difficulties experienced; recognising and building strategies to support learning including: Memory; Time management; Spelling; Reading for meaning; Concentration; Colour overlay; Technical aids/technology. You should have a qualification or solid skills at Entry 3 and above. The learner's journey will be as follows: an induction and skills review period followed by learning assessed by one or two qualifications.
