A BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work related qualification. The Level 2 qualification is equivalent to four GCSEs at A-C grade and is taken as a full time course. The course covers a number of units, including; Human Lifespan & Development, Effective Communication, Healthy Living, Community Volunteering, Social Influences.

There is a part time opportunity to retake Maths and English GCSE if you have attained a D grade and wish to improve this.
