Exercise and Fitness Knowledge Theory will be embedded into the Gym Instructor Course, however candidates who are already in possession of this will be exempt, proof of this certification will be required. The Exercise and Fitness Knowledge theory will include: Anatomy & Physiology; Components and Fitness; Health and Lifestyle Screening; Informed Consent; Session Structure; Principles of Exercise Progression and Adaptation The Practical element of the Gym Instructor Course will include: Planning, Teaching and Evaluating a Gym session using Cardiovascular and resistance machines as well as free weights and body weight exercises.
