Shiatsu is a form of healing closely related to acupuncture. The practitioner applies pressure with hands, knees and feet, and uses stretching techniques, working to relieve muscle tension, ease joint stiffness and re align the structure of the body. Pressure along the energy pathways (meridians) helps correct imbalances in the functioning of the internal organs. Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and has an overall calming effect, allowing the body's self healing processes to work more effectively.
