Coppicing

C03C08F: The course aims to provide students with an insight into the traditional method of Coppicing, showing method and reason, also what is achievable from cutting hazel in a managed copse. The course is for anyone with an interest in the traditional craft of sustaining a copse. It is a course for leisure interest, suitable for all levels. You do not need to own a copse; a general interest is sufficient. This will show how a neglected area can be restored.

Name: Coppicing Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Horticulture and Forestry Qualification type: Assessment You will be asked to complete an Individual Learning Record (ILR) at the beginning of the course/workshop. The ILR is a way for you to identify your strengths, challenges and interests and set your own personal targets. This, in turn, will inform the tutor of your starting point and ensure you get the best out of your course. With your tutor you will revisit the ILR regularly so that progress and further actions can be discussed, agreed and recorded.
