Course information

Name: Pilates for Life: All Abilities Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Sport, Leisure and Recreation Qualification type: Assessment Each session will consist of a preparation phase followed by a series of matwork, standing and seated exercises. Moves will be demonstrated initially, in addition to a verbal explanation and students will then be given the opportunity to try for themselves, with the tutor monitoring and advising as necessary. Further explanation and demonstration will be given as required and alternatives/adaptations can be offered as needed. Throughout the course students will be required to comment on their learning and individual progress in the form of a Student Learning Record. This allows tutors to plan accordingly to each individual's needs, as well as allowing students to monitor their own develop in the subject. Entry requirements

All equipment is provided, however students may wish to bring a small towel to cover blocks and water as required. Layered clothing that does not inhibit movement should be worn. Pilates is performed without shoes so please ensure you come with non-slip foot wear; socks or bare feet are both acceptable.
