Introduction The product design specification is a creative and thought-provoking qualification which gives students the practical skills, theoretical knowledge and confidence to succeed in a number of careers. Especially those in the creative industries. They will investigate historical, social, cultural, environmental and economic influences on design and technology, whilst enjoying opportunities to put their learning in to practice by producing products of their choice. 3D Product Design is intended to reflect the wide-ranging activities of professional designers and a wide range of materials. Project and coursework will contain significant graphic elements; such as coursework presentation, sketching, CAD and modelling. All project work requires a functioning three dimensional outcome. This course is best suited to dedicated, creative and hardworking students from the 3D materials based Design and Technology GCSE courses. See website for modular information
