Cake decorating: novelty cakes: step 1

The course will be made up of demonstrations and you decorating your Cake. Throughout the course we will try different techniques and mediums i.e. Frosting, Royal Icing, Sugar paste and Marzipan.

Entry requirements

Tea Towel, Dish Cloth, Apron, Pen and Paper: for your own notes. You will need a small A4 folder to keep your notes in and also you will need to photograph your work as we go along. Please bring £5 for tutor materials, a 7 Sponge Cake, on the first day and any of the following equipment you have: PME tubes number 2writing/plain and number 44 star/shell available from Julian Graves or online Baking Parchment Scissors Palette knife Small sharp knife Small paint brush for cleaning tubes a child s will do Small paint brush for painting with food colour Colours; paste and powder Rolling Pin 2 Mixing bowls Smoother for sugar paste Boards and Box for your cake Will I need to do anything in my own time?
