We will gather ideas from source material, considering composition, colour, scale and shape via exploratory studies. This will lead to a painting or series of paintings of your own choice with suggestions and support from the tutor. There will be an informal group review at the end of the course.

You will need to bring your own paint, brushes and palette, sketchbook, pencil and suitable paper. There will be some basic economy watercolour paper to purchase from the tutor and drawing boards and easels tabletop and freestanding available to borrow. Canvases can be purchased during the course once the size, subject and shape of your picture has been decided. Will I need to do anything in my own time?
