Drawing and studying the human form by looking at a life model. Initially you will be responding to the model s poses, using loose gestural marks and developing confidence in your own creativity and skills. Materials will include inks, charcoal and some unconventional drawing tools. We will cover the basics of space, line, tone, proportion and finally the whole form.

Your tutor will advise you on materials, tools and equipment during your first session, though it would be helpful to bring the following to the session if possible depending on personal preference: Materials Old clothing or an apron is advisable, especially as at some point we will be using inks. A large pad of cartridge drawing paper, charcoal, range of pencils. rubber, masking tape and any of your own chosen drawing materials and a A2 drawing pad. Will I need to do anything in my own time? Some drawing and painting exercises and research studies related to individual projects will be set.
