Acrylics Mixed Ability III

On this course you will build on your skills in acrylic painting and learn more about techniques and design principles to consider when producing your work. You will look at a range of artists throughout the course to help you to develop a variety of approaches. You will cover a range of subject matters, such as natural landscapes, portraits, and flowers. You will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor at the beginning of the course and to develop ideas for your own piece in the second half of the course. You will: Learn about how to mix colours and understand colour theory Learn about brush control and acrylic paint as a medium Learn about styles of painting and paint application techniques Learn about composition and the history of painting Learn about proportion, planning and developing a painting Develop your own painting over the second half of the term Learn about dry brushing, sponge techniques washes, spattering and use a pallet knife in the second half of term (if applicable to the development of your personal painting) Learn about proportion and make changes as appropriate.
