Covering a broad range of skills across the sports industry, this course is an integral part of the education of young elite athletes in the UK, being part of the technical certificate requirement on the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE). You will study nine mandatory units including topics such as: principles of anatomy and physiology in sport, the physiology of fitness, assessing risk in sport, fitness testing for sport and exercise, fitness training and programming, sports nutrition, psychology for sports performance, technical and tactical skills in sport and the athlete's lifestyle. Additionally, you will study a range of nine specialist units.
