A Level English language and Literature is designed to: develop your understanding of English Language and Literature as a combined discipline, draw on your experiences at GCSE as well as offering a secure foundation for the study of English beyond A Level, develop interest in and enjoyment of independent reading, develop personal responses as critics of both literary and non-literary texts and offer centres the support of a Consortium Adviser. You will develop integrated literary and linguistic analysis. Set texts are analysed using appropriate terminology. You develop your skills to be able to write fluently and coherently in response to questions. Units include Integrated Analysis and Text Production and Analysing Speech and its Representation.
