What is games design? Would you like to learn industry standard software used to develop and create video games? Would you like to work in the games industry?If yes, then this course is right for you! At Dudley College you will learn how games are made from initial concept through to the end user. You will learn to master industry standard software such as: Photoshop; 3D Studio Max;Mudbox and Unreal Engine 4. This course has an equal mix of conceptual art and design and practical production for videogames. You will be challenged to think and work creatively indifferent and exciting modules, where you will work on rewarding live briefs and collaborative projects.Some of the subjects within the course may include:Create and develop games level design documentsDigital character sculpting using Mudbox2D game creation using Game Maker3D environment development using Unreal Engine 43D character realisation, development and animation using Mudbox and 3D Studio MaxGame engine modificationLevel design2D and 3D animationCharacter design and developmentComputer game story developmentEducational visits to Eurogamer Expo and Gamer Camp.

Name: Computer Games Design BTEC Foundation / Extended Diploma Level 3 Qualification title: Extended Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Continuous assessment of course work in the first and second years across a range of mandatory and professional specialist units. Assessments will be project based, set and marked by course tutors. There will also be externally set tasks that will be marked by the awarding body.
