This practical session will teach you the skills you need to start creating beautiful pottery. With step by step demonstrations and clear instructions, from the tutor who will assist and guide you through the core techniques for making, decorating and firing pottery. Methods of clay work will include; coiling, slab building, hand building and throwing on the wheel. The various decorative techniques you will learn are glazing, slip ware and applied texture such as sgraffito, burnishing, inlay and resist. The course is aimed at beginners, who will then be able to go onto the next level. An apron Pencil and notebook The college deliver further pottery sessions, and offer many arts and crafts courses which maybe of interest to broaden and improve your creativity.
