This is a fascinating look at the ancient world through their literature. One eyed monsters, witches, myth, legend, and romance – it’s all there! 2hr 20 mins exam – 40% of the A Level. Unit 2 – Greek Theatre Students study Ancient Greek Tragedy and Comedy. This is foundational literature that most subsequent plots and stories have drawn on. Oedipus will be examined as well as Aristophanes’ Frogs. Themes such as fate, destiny, class divides, the role of the gods and drama will be studied. 1 hr 45mins exam – 30% of the A Level.
