This programme is designed to meet the needs of employers and to prepare students for the world of business, retail & travel. The programme aims to provide an education and vocational background for young people working to obtain a career in a range of jobs such as office administration, travel & tourism, financial services, customer service, sales and retailing, distribution and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on key skills in a business context, such as Communication and Numeracy. You learn through completing assignments involving investigation and analysis with business and travel industry vocational scenarios embedded. The course is delivered through lectures and live projects supported by tutorials. Assessment is 80% coursework-based, achieved through essays, Powerpoint presentations and role plays. 20% is by external examinations. In addition to your main programme, you will study English and maths. Depending on your grades on entry, you will study either Functional Skills or GCSEs English and Maths.
