AS/A-Level Media Studies AQA. In Media Studies we explore the way meaning is produced in modern life. In AS we focus on how media texts are made, investigating the codes and conventions that are typical in particular forms and genres. In A-Level we turn to why media texts are media and what for : this time we study the institutions that control the media and the theories and debates that surround them. In Media Studies we combine the close study of particular texts with practical course work which enables students to construct their own media messages.
