The level 2 software specialist course has been developed for the budding software developer / creative media developer. Students on this path will gain valuable experience in multimedia, website design, graphics and software development. On the computer graphics, website authoring and multimedia development units you will make use of the advanced Adobe Master Suite CS6 collection including such titles as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Audition and Premiere Pro. These titles represent the bulk of a multimedia developer's workflow and required skillset. Students will gain essential skills in using Apple Macs running the latest operating system OS X. Mountain Lion and use of the iPad3 within the multimedia development unit. This is a vocational course and does not require students to undertake any examinations. Instead students will be assessed throughout the year by completing a number of assignments. On successful completion of the course students with a high Merit/Distinction profile and tutor recommendation may progress to the Level 3 BTEC Diploma for IT Practitioners or with a Pass profile to the City & Guilds Diploma course.
