Over the last few years there has been a consistent and rapid rise in the number of students taking Mathematics and Further Mathematics. The economic demand for young people with higher Level maths skills is encouraging students to follow Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related courses and careers. As a result Sir William Ramsay School is delighted to offer Further Mathematics AS and A-Level qualifications as from 2015/2016. These will be run as twilight teaching lessons for the first year. As well as being valuable qualifications in their own right, AS and A-Level Level Further Mathematics facilitates the study of other A Levels, for example, Sciences, Psychology and Geography and can help raise attainment in these complementary subjects. If you are not planning to study for a mathematically rich degree but are keen on mathematics you will find Further Mathematics a very enjoyable course and having a Further Mathematics qualification identifies you as having excellent analytical skills, whatever area you are considering for a career.
