Introduction to Welding Skills level 2

The course is primarily practical and hands - on producing five weld pieces or weld joints tuition is given through - out the course with time to practice the welding skills. Full instruction is given before using any of the equipment in the workshop. The welding course will include an introduction to the workshop introduction to the health and safety in the workshop instruction is given on the use of welders saws drills to enable learners to practice welding and then they will weld at least five weld joints. The weld joints are checked visually against the City & Guilds check sheet. There is an opportunity to re - take the weld test if required full guidance and instruction is given throughout the duration of the course.

Entry requirements

This course is offered at Bicester campus of Banbury Bicester College.It is a one day per week course for 10 weeks for each welding skill for example MIG Welding or TIG Welding. Individuals will be invited to attend a mandatory college induction prior to starting training where they will complete college enrolments and initial assessments. There is an extra two weeks for course administration and oral assessment at the end of the ten weeks.
