Art & Design (AS Level)

UPDATED 20151124 09:28:20

AS Level Component 1 consists of the portfolio, is marked out of 96 marks and is worth 60% of the AS Level. Component 2 consists of the externally assessed assignment, includes 10 hours of supervised time, is marked out of 96 marks and is worth 40% of the AS Level. We take a portfolio approach to this course. This will allow you to experiment freely in your work. You will be given the opportunity to develop your strengths and address your weaknesses, but we always expect you to work to your own ideas and intentions. You will work with a wide range of materials, including 3-D materials, so that your work is individual and suits the way in which you work. You will regularly study other artists, researching, analysing and evaluating their work and linking it with your own.
