The Access to HE Diploma attracts students from a wide variety of backgrounds and subject areas who want to go on to study for a Higher Education degree. The Diploma is a Level 3 course and contains a high level of independent learning to effectively prepare you for life at University and career opportunities. Our Access team has a wealth of academic and vocational experience to provide you with the knowledge and support required to fulfil your ambitions. Typical undergraduate destinations for our students include English Literature/Language, History, Law, Media/Film Studies and Journalism. The Diploma consists of 3 academic subject sets and a study skills unit comprising of: •English Language and Literature - Foundations in English Language and Literature, Language Analysis, Literature and Criticism, Practical Skills in English Language and Literature. •History and Culture in Victorian England - Foundations in History & Culture of Victorian England, Historical Context, Victorian Writers, Art and Architecture, Practical Skills in History & Culture of Victorian England. •Sociology - Foundations in Sociology, Culture and Social Organisation, Understanding and Evaluation of Sociological Theories, Sociological Research Methodology and Application of Theories to Substantive Topics.
