If your ambition is to work in the ever expanding media industry then this is the course for you. The emphasis of this course is on moving image and radio production. You will gain invaluable practical skills in a variety of disciplines from TV Production and fiction to documentary and radio. Learn lighting, camera work, editing as well as gaining industry knowledge to succeed in this competitive industry. You will encounter academic and practical challenges with the opportunity to work with real clients and create portfolio. During the course you will work with a range of cutting-edge equipment, and have access to workshops, on-line digital editing suites, digital SLR cameras and a fully equipped television studio as well as a 24/7 radio broadcasting studio. You will also gain valuable experience in a professional context through well-developed assignments. You will be given the opportunity to find real commissions and undertake freelance work. Course modules The HNC will be broken down into eight units. All units will require a significant amount of private study designed to develop both your technical and communication skills. Each unit will require the submission of an assignment based on the unit content. Your assignment will be graded with a pass, merit or distinction with all units counting towards your final HNC.
