Art and Design A-Level

The aim is to improve their visual perception and general level of awareness. Research, investigation and experimentation are all important components of the course. Emphasis is given to drawing and painting with some printmaking techniques, and students are given indepth tuition on practices and techniques. Sixth Form students have a special studio devoted to their use, and tutorials are held on a regular basis. Access to a good camera is most useful as photography plays an important part in this course.

Name: Art and Design A-Level Qualification title: Art A-Level Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment AS Level One unit of coursework (60% of the marks) is delivered in two parts. There is an externally set assignment with an eight hour examination over two days in the summer. A2 Level One unit of coursework (60%) is delivered in two parts; Part a) is a Personal Study b) an Illustrated Dissertation.
