If you are looking to hone your practical skills or like making things work then we have the perfect course for you. Are you fascinated by how things work and like the latest technology? Do you have a love of cars and want a career in the motor industry? If so, our Engineering & Automotive pathway is for you and will develop your knowledge and skills so you are ready to enter your chosen industry. Courses combine theory and practical activity allowing you get a feel for a working day in your specialism. You will learn from our vastly experienced tutors, all of whom have worked in their chosen industry. Engineering across all sectors continues to evolve at a fast pace with ever-changing technologies and processes creating new job roles. All our Pathways contain professional qualifications actively sought by employers. These will be specific to the career path you wish to follow: Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Motor Vehicle & Repair, Performing Engineering Operations (PEO), Welding. There is also the opportunity to gain additional qualifications relevant to areas in which you wish to specialise: Health & Safety, Computer Aided Design, Parts Sales, Motor Sport. The Engineering Employability Event held each year will give you an opportunity to meet, get advice from, and be interviewed by employers. This pathway provides work placement opportunities across all sectors and there are frequent trips and guest speaker events planned to give you a greater insight into your chosen career. Once you apply we will invite you to an Information & Advice session. During this you will interview with a member of the team to decide on the elements of your course. At the beginning of July you will be invited to a Welcome Session where you will meet with your tutors, fellow learners and find out more about what you will be studying in September. Following the Welcome Session you will be offered a conditional place on a Study Programme, or further advice.
