Teaching Training - Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools

This course is designed for individuals who are employed in a school. The course runs on roll-on, roll-off programme which allows individuals to join at any point during the year. There is an expectation that candidates will attend knowledge sessions at Huntingdonshire Regional College but there may be some flexibility with this arrangement. The majority of the course is assessed in the workplace with guidance and support from a college assessor. The candidate will study: Communication and professional relationships with children and young people, Support learning activities, Promote children and young people's positive behaviour, Develop professional relationships with children, young people and adults, Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people , Support assessment for learning, Engage in personal development in health, social care or children's and young people's settings, Support children and young people's health and safety, Understand how to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people, Understand child and young person development. On successful completion you can progress your career development in schools, possibly onto the role of a cover supervisor or onto training as a teacher.
