GCE AS Physics A

UPDATED 20151119 11:52:39

Physics is crucial to understanding the world around us, inside us and beyond us. Physicists are fascinated by how things work, in every detail and at the deepest level, analysing everything from elementary particles and living cells to solids, liquids, gases, plasmas, complex systems, the human brain, planets, supercomputers, the atmosphere, stars, galaxies and the universe itself. Physics underpins recent technological developments that have revolutionised our world, such as mobile phones, lasers, the Internet and MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). A-Level Physics will enable you to study physical theory while remaining mindful of the 'real-life' context for each area of study. You will also develop practical and investigative skills, and compare these to how scientists work in current research contexts.
