Staffordshire University, in partnership with Stafford College, is offering a four-year Science Degree programme designed for students from a variety of academic backgrounds and mature students wishing to return to full-time education. Course Content The course is modular in structure. Half of the Science Foundation year is made up of Core compulsory modules that include IT, Communication and Mathematical Skills. You also study three modules from Biology, Forensic Science, Chemistry, Earth Science and Psychology. Degree Programmes available are: Biology Biomedical sciences Forensic Science Forensic Investigation Policing and Criminal investigation The first year of the programme will be undertaken at the College main site in Stafford with the following 3 years at the University site at College Road, Stoke-on-Trent. The year at Stafford is designed to act as a Science Foundation course and will give applicants an opportunity to discover many of the fundamental concepts of science. During this time, it is envisaged that applicants will develop the appropriate skills and techniques required to pursue more specialised science courses at a higher level. It is assumed that applicants entering the course may have only a limited knowledge of science and so care is taken to cover topics from a basic level during the early stages.
