This two-year, part-time course, validated by Staffordshire University has been designed by employers to meet the needs of industry and commerce. It is a skills-based programme, which covers the many aspects of operating in a business environment and of how people relate in a work place. It explains how costing and accounting practices can be used, how an organisation is structured, managed and analysed. It also examines the roles of Marketing and Human Resources and how they interrelate with other departments to ensure business success. Business Economics 4. Entrepreneurial Marketing 5. Employability IT and Reasoning Techniques In the second year the modules studied at Fda are: 1. The Business Environment and Marketing Responses 2. Designing and Managing Effective Organisations Human Resources/Accounting & Finance and Operations Management 3. Work Based Project 4. Employability and Project Management Techniques Also during the two years study you will be actively developing skills that will enhance your professional role at work. Career Opportunities/Progression The BTEC HNC/FdA Business Management can also lead to further studies such as a degree course or other professional and managerial qualifications such as those offered by the Institute of Marketing, Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. The BTEC HNC/FdA Business Management is recognised throughout industry and commerce as an important qualification for administrative and management careers and can help to enhance promotion prospects. Staffordshire University offers all students an automatic place to top up their qualification to a BA (Hons) Degree.
