There is the possibility of studying music to gain 1, 2 or 3 A-level equivalents. 1 A level equivalent course BTEC Level 3 subsidiary Diploma in Music (Performing) - 5 hours per week 2 A level equivalent course BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Music - 10 hours per week 3 A level equivalent course BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music - 15 hours per week Subsidiary diploma – 6 units, Diploma in Music -12 units, extended diploma - 18 units. You must have a love for music and performing and have a commitment to practising. If you play an instrument or sing, then the music course is for you. Previous music qualifications are not necessary, however you will need to play/sing an audition piece for entry to one of the courses. The course is very project based with many final pieces consisting of performances and practice diaries/logs. You will be required to make video diaries to chart your progress through some units.
