Around 4.5 million people help to keep businesses running in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Administrators need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity. Skills shortages identified by organisations include a lack of office and administration skills, customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, oral communication skills and IT skills, all of which are covered within this Apprenticeship. Elements covered within this Apprenticeship include: Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Business & Administration (Technical Certificate) Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business & Administration (Competency Element) Functional Skills at Level 2 in maths, ICT and English Employee Rights and Responsibilities Personal Learning and Thinking Skills This Apprenticeship is designed to support individuals' progression in the workplace through the development of their administrative skills. Job roles could include: administration officer/executive, administration team leader, office supervisor, personal assistant, secretary, legal secretary and medical secretary. This Apprenticeship provides an ideal progression route for individuals who have achieved the Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship in Business and Administration. Following achievement of this Apprenticeship, individuals could progress to study the Higher (Level 4) Apprenticeship in Business and Administration or alternatively undertake a management related qualification if they are working in a suitable job role.
