UPDATED 20151117 12:33:56

Topics covered at AS level include British Government (national, local, devolved and EU), the British Constitution, voting behaviour, political participation, pressure groups, political parties, media and political concepts & ideologies. The main focus of the A2 specification is the Government and Politics of the USA. There is no coursework. Annually a trip is arranged to a sixth form student politics conference which offers the opportunity to hear well-known politicians. This is usually followed by a visit to the Houses of Parliament. Most subjects fit in well with Government & Politics but the subjects where there could be some curricular overlap include History, Sociology, Business Studies, Economics, Media Studies and Geography.
