Economics AS/A2 Level 3

UPDATED 20151117 12:26:14

The course aims to develop a thorough comprehension of how the UK and global economies operate so that students can analyse how current economic issues and problems affect our daily lives. At AS level students are introduced to both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and topics studied include demand and supply, markets and market failure as well as UK economic policy in recent years. Assessment is based upon two written papers in Year 12 for the AS exam or three papers in Year 13 for the A level. In Year 13 the course builds upon the theoretical micro and macroeconomic foundations developed in Year 12, allowing for a detailed study of a broad range of economic issues in the context of EU and global markets.
